On November 22nd, the 4 million tons/year hydrocracking unit of Zhenhai Refining and Chemical, which was constructed by our company, successfully produced qualified products and achieved a one-time startup success.
The 4 million tons/year hydrocracking unit is one of the key projects in the ethylene feedstock adaptability renovation project of Zhenhai Refining & Chemical's old area. It adopts the FHC single-stage series one-pass hydrocracking complete process technology and catalyst developed by Sinopec Dalian (Fushun) Petrochemical Research Institute for flexible production of chemical feedstocks and middle distillates. The main products include light naphtha, heavy naphtha, aviation kerosene, diesel, and tail oil. After completion and commissioning, in addition to producing aviation kerosene, white oil, and other oil products, it can also provide feedstock for downstream reforming units and ethylene cracking units. It can provide 70% of the feedstock for Zhenhai Refining & Chemical's newly built 1.2 million tons/year ethylene unit, and is known as a key bridge from refining to chemical industry. The installation project for this device commenced on July 10, 2020, and was successfully handed over on August 31 of the same year. During the construction of the device, the project team, in collaboration with the owner, general contractor, supervisor, and other units, fully leveraged the operational advantages of a "large team" to effectively overcome challenges such as adjacent production devices, a short construction period, and epidemic prevention and control, thereby accelerating the construction progress. Company leaders visited the project site multiple times to coordinate and solve various problems encountered during the construction process. In the subsequent finishing process, the grid management requirements were implemented, and close cooperation and collaboration were maintained with the workshop. For issues discovered on site, operation assurance personnel were organized to implement rectification measures 24 hours a day, completing various operation assurance tasks efficiently and achieving high quality. The device was successfully started up on the first attempt, earning unanimous praise from all parties. Currently, the device has officially entered the normal production sequence, with all product indicators meeting standards and the equipment operating in good condition. ![]() Congratulatory message on the large screen in the central control room ![]() Northeast side of the hydrocracking unit ![]() South side of the hydrocracking unit |
