The SAUDI KAYAN Port Project has recently started a new construction movement in the K.S.A. The owner (SAUDI KAYAN) demanded that the berth 43 should be ready for start-up as soon as possible and offered a “6 day construction windows” to our company. Our project team immediately started a cooperation meeting with SNEI (Sinopec Nanjing Engineering Corporation) and FAL (FLUOR ARABIA LIMITED) when received the owners’ requirement. The working time schedule shall be 24 hours by 6 days continuously. The general manager of SMEC (Shengyue Middle East Co.,Ltd.) Mr. Jin wenlin decided the Berth 43 windows construction plan which was prepared by Yuan xiaoxun and Chen gang. A group of workers which come from SNEI were transferred to the Port project at once. The work force, materials, tools, transportation trucks and cranes were prepared carefully and earnest, though it is arduous task and lack of work force and time. The preparation greatly ensured the construction progress. It cost 2 days to remove all the existing pipe lines and install new pipe spools from 2nd July, 2010, which was about 300m. The air temperature was more than 40℃ at day time and it was very humid at night shift. However, all the technicians worked at the jobsite and in charge of safety and technical administration at day shift and night shift. At the same time, the technicians and supervisors cooperated with the FLUOR, SK and SABTANK. The Berth 43 windows construction was organized well, arranged successfully and planed precisely. All the missions of the Berth 43 have been accomplished with the effort of all SMEC staff, which gained great honor form the SAUDI KAYAN.
