sypecadmin 2016-08-09
The Saudi POM (Polyoxymethylene) formaldehyde project is located in the Jubail Industrial Zone in eastern Saudi Arabia. The owner is Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), and the EPC contractor is Intecsa/Dragados Gulf from Spain. The project has a capacity of 50000 tons per year, and the scope of work includes steel structure installation, equipment installation, pipeline prefabrication/installation, anti-corrosion and insulation, electrical instrumentation, and pre commissioning.
The POM project mainly includes the construction of a new formaldehyde unit and corresponding supporting facilities in the new factory area (OSBL), and the corresponding renovation and renewal projects in the production factory area (ISBL). The new factory area mainly includes 300 units (formaldehyde unit), 310 monomer units, 320 buffer tank area, 330 polymerization unit, 340 extrusion granulation unit, and 350 utility units (including deoxygenated water unit, heating furnace unit, softened water unit, air compressor unit, wastewater treatment unit, and seawater treatment unit cooling tower unit). The production plant mainly includes Unit 370 (pipe gallery and TIE-IN). The main engineering quantities include 3280 tons of steel structure, 1256 sets of dynamic and static equipment, 430000 inches of pipelines, 277.9 kilometers of electrical cables, and 307.9 kilometers of instrument cables.
Construction period: 15 months, successful negotiation on October 17, 2014; Signed the Letter of Acceptance (LOI) on November 24, 2014; Contract duration for new factory OSBL: February 28, 2016; Old factory ISBL: 2016-3-28.
